Optional Treatments
Beside validated therapies, an emerging field is growing fastly. After decades of technical experience, accumulated knowledge and technological innovation, with no less qualitative scientific basis, focal therapies are taking ground in early prostate cancer. For instance prostate photodynamic therapy has brought to the field the highest level of evidence and as such has to be considered as a real option. When indicated, these therapies aims at offering to the patient a better balance between the control of the disease and the quality of life.
